We all know the benefits of chanting mantras, this is one of the sacred rituals in spirituality, and awareness about mantras is magnifying too. But in the chaos authentic and traditional ways of chanting mantras can get obscured hence understanding the credible way of uttering a mantra is a must for getting its full benefit.


There Are 2 ways to chant the mantra

1. informal way(based on  psychological factors of mantra)
2. formal way (based on  spiritual factors of mantra)

• Informal mantras are the words u have assigned to utter based on your problem because one of the benefits of repeating a word is that it becomes part of your subconscious, if u want to excel in your happiness level u can say -I am always happy, my happiness is independent of what is happening outside. These are the sentences u repeated no matter what u are doing throughout the day while doing performing daily tasks and this is the essence of the mantra practice -engaging your mind in something u want it to be, the word mantra itself means that which engages the mind.
Man-mind, tantra-engaging.

• The formal way is when u sit down by taking time out and utter some scripture documented words

1. om(king of all mantras)
2. mahamrutunjay jap
3. shiv mantra
4. Gayatri mantra

These mantras are for self-realization and powerful than informal mantras, it is for this mantra u need accuracy and authenticity.




How to chant the mantra correctly


• When u chant a mantra some parts of your body starts sweating more than other not due to atmospheric heat but due to the reverberation of the mantra.because energy starts rising from lower to higher chakras that is toward the head.

• Mantras don't work when u do it consciously make it habitual because cultivated practice is only practising it will not bring u fruits hence start it consciously to make it habitual.

• Energy of words should start from the bottom of your belly which implies manipurka chakra is intensely involved in this ritual.

• Focus your mind on the meaning of the mantra rather than just trying to finish it.

• Do not force yourself to chant the mantra ultimately cultivated practice is not good practice, thence allow it to happen by simply grasping into the implication of the mantra.

• This is a must -to make a mantra perfect do not focus on the perfection of the mantra, just practice it until it becomes habitual.




Now, just sit quietly in the relative tranquil area of your home or any place of your choice, keep your hands on your lap and begin to utter a mantra start with 10 min a day and slowly increase the time by your level of practice.
